FAQs

How long are the races?

The races are booked into 10 minute slots, with 10 minute breaks if you have booked more than one session.

What is the minimum age?

The minimum age is 6 years old. For the adult karts we recommend a minimum age of 12, but our policy is based on the drivers height not age.

What is the difference between family novice and adult racing?

Both of these sessions are driven in adult karts but our family novice session is designed for first timers and less confident racers. Our adult races are purposed towards more experienced races and those who have been a lot before. We recommend anyone with a lap time under a 32 second lap time.

Do the junior and adults race together?

We have 2 different kart types, the junior karts with a required height between 127cm(4’2) and 160cm(5’3), and the adult karts with a required minimum height of 153cm(5’).

How do you book a session?

Sessions for both the karting and the simulators can be booked: online, over the phone, walk-in and on our exclusive app. We recommend booking in advance as this guarantees your space on the race, and the possibility of booking onto an arrive-and-drive session would depend on the availability at that current time.

How fast are the karts?

The karts are capable of reaching a top speed of around 40mph, however the speed is controlled by a member of staff throughout the session. Average speeds around the track tend to be around 20-25mph.

What is a good lap time?

For our junior karts, a lap time under 45 seconds is generally where we see first timers setting their times, and with more experienced junior driver, we see lap times around the 35 seconds.

For our adult karts, a lap time under 40 seconds is a good benchmark to set, with our faster drivers even breaking the 30 second barrier.

What is the dress code?

The only mandatory clothing is closed toe shoes, e.g trainers. These mustn’t have studs/blades or be high heeled. Crocs are NOT permitted. We do also require any headwear to be removed or tucked in if applicable. Other than this you are free to wear any appropriate clothing that you like.

Can I use my own helmet?

Yes. You can use your own helmet, providing it is full face and does NOT have a tinted/mirrored visor. Goggles are permitted so long as they are NOT tinted/mirrored. There also has to be an appropriate visor/goggles attached to the helmet whilst being used on our track.

How do I book a Grand Prix/Birthday party?

Grand Prix and Birthday parties must be booked over the phone. The full amount must be paid in advance as we can’t reserve the spaces. These both run with a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 10. If you wish to bring more than 10, you can create a double Grand Prix, which can have up to 20 drivers.

Are spectators allowed?

Yes. Spectators are allowed and we ask them to remain in our café, where there are viewing windows. Under certain circumstances we can allow a parent/carer to accompany a driver to the track, where there is an area that they can view from.

When are the quieter times?

Our quieter times are usually Wednesdays and Thursdays. Fridays after school can be busier, with our busiest time being Saturdays and Sundays. All of our sessions are subject to availability and are done on a first come first served basis, unless you book in advance.

Is there anyone else on our race?

This is all depending on the time you have booked for. If you have booked a session during our peak times, then you should expect other people to be on the track with you.

Do I need to arrive 40 minutes before the session time?

Yes. The reason we ask this is so it gives us time to sign you in, register you if needed and get you through the safety briefing. This process can be sped up if everyone racing sign their respective safety waivers before the arriving. This can be done on our website or through our app.

Can I wear an action camera?

No. Action cameras of any kind are not permitted, regardless of mounting type or location.
